Funeral service in the Edson area began in 1913, and the tradition has continued unbroken ever since. In 1979 the business became Edson Funeral Home — the Foothills Memorial Chapel — under Robert and Marilynn Joy, before joining The Caring Group.
Foothills Crematorium is the only crematorium in west-central Alberta, so there is no third-party involvement and no extra mileage charges. Hinton Funeral Services extends the same care to families along the Yellowhead.
