Because You Lived.
A life happened here, and it deserves to be marked. Everything we do begins with that.
Because you lived, a kitchen still smells of Sunday dinner.
Because you lived, someone knows every word to a song they pretend not to like.
Because you lived, there is a dent in the truck door nobody ever fixed, on purpose.
Because you lived, a grandchild can cast a line, and knows to be quiet about it.
Because you lived, the porch light is left on, out of habit, for people who are already home.
Every life leaves a mark on the people around it. Most of those marks are small and ordinary, and they are the ones that last: a recipe, a saying, a way of laughing that someone else now has.
Because You Lived is our way of saying that those marks matter, and that a funeral exists to honour them. It puts the person first and the service second. It is the reason we ask about the life before we ask about anything else.
It is also a promise about how we work. A family that has entrusted us with someone they love should be met with patience, plain answers and a steady hand — from the first call, through the service, and in the months that follow.
The life, not the logistics.
A funeral has paperwork, permits and timings, and we will look after all of it. But none of it is the point. We begin by asking about the person — what they did on a Saturday, what they were like at a table — because that is what the service is for.
Neighbours, not a company.
Our homes are run by people who live in the towns they serve. They shop at the same stores and sit in the same arenas. When a family calls, they are calling someone who may already know the name.
Entrusted, never assumed.
Families choose us. We do not expect it, and we never take it for granted. Being invited into the worst week of someone's life is a privilege, and we try to behave like it every day.

We made this short film to say what a brochure cannot. There are no directors in it and no chapels — only the moments a family is made of, and the reason we believe they deserve to be marked well.
What it looks like on an ordinary Tuesday.
A mission is only worth stating if it changes what happens when the phone rings. These are the habits it has given us.
We say died.
Not passed, not lost. Plain words respect what has happened and the people it happened to.
We ask about them first.
Before any form is filled in, we want to know who they were. The arrangements follow from the answer.
We show every cost before you decide.
There are no surprises after the fact. Care should never depend on a family guessing what they can afford.
We move at your pace.
There is no hurry. Some families need a day; some need a week. Both are fine.
We keep the door open.
Grief does not end at the graveside, and neither does our care. Paperwork, benefits, someone to talk to — for as long as it is needed.
We never use a family's grief as marketing.
Stories and photographs appear only with permission, and never as a boast.
