R.A. Schrader Funeral Home
Al and his team achieved amazing
results in a very difficult and different
market place. R.A. Schrader was up
over 10 percent in its calls while its
average was above budget. The funeral
home serves a very large surrounding
area and has little competition based
on its location. Above all R.A. Schrader
funeral home which is named after
Raymond Alan Schrader who runs
the funeral home today, along with
Christina, Joe and Paul are in a secure
market and are pleasant addition to the
Caring Group.
Mountainside Funeral Home
Mountainside Funeral Home is located
on the out skirts of the lower mainland
and battles with the challenge of a
low cost market and local providers.
Mountainside employs both Rebekah
and Darren who both live in the area
and are working on becoming an active
part of their community in Hope. The
funeral home is a stunning property on
a beautiful hillside, that is in a brilliant
setting for the services they provide.
With the introduction of a reception
facility and planned renovations, the
upgraded facility will allow for pictorial
tributes and greater selection to the
families for burial and cremation.
Lakeland Funeral Home
Gerry, Linda & Irene provide
exceptional service to the traditional
community of Vermilion. They have
a well maintained facility inside that
will require some upgrades and better
signage outside in the upcoming year.
The general call volume was down |

for the area, however, their market
share did not falter even with local
competition. Gerry and his team are the
largest providers of monuments for a
single location and continue to perform
amazing results in granite.
Courtney Winters Funeral Home
Drumheller has a reputation of
transient staff and poor management,
yet there has been no competition
except for a low cost provider out
of Airdrie. The Caring Group has
been able to acquire local employees:
Joyce Boon as manager, Tara Bertram
in the office, is a resident of nearby
Carbon. The return of Sean Grande a
Drumheller boy, and not to mention
the assistance of previous long term
employees and owners! Drumheller
has also been affected by the general
decrease in calls, however, have gained
ground in the average calls going to
Airdrie. With the team in place we
expect growing results in the future.
Eden's Funeral Home
Fort MacLeod
Eden’s funeral home in Fort McLeod
has Chris, Byron and Jamie working
together to achieve the financial results
that we were looking for. With the
recent cost effective upgrades and some
love shown to the inside of the building.
The community is starting to notice
the care and attention that was not
shown by the previous owners. With
a large percentage of the call volume
being from the surrounding reserves
our goal is to work with the Chiefs
and Councils, to help all parties come
to a better solution with regards to |

communication and funding. This is a
work in progress and will be completed
in the months to come.
Eden's Funeral Home
Pincher Creek
Dennis has been a pillar in Pincher
Creek for over 30 years; he worked
with the original owner Frank Eden,
till he sold the business in late 80’s.
The Pincher Creek market has one
competitor, however, with the help
of Dennis and his team they have
increased their market share and the
funeral average substantially.
Evergreen Funeral Home
Evergreen is a concept that we have
just opened to test the Lethbridge
market place with “green” funerals.
Our goal is to move all of the Southern
Alberta Generations Funeral Home and
Christensen Salmon Funeral Home
clientele to one location allowing us to
utilize one facility.

Funeral Home)
This funeral home has been the
Caring Group’s flagship. Scott, Carol
and the whole Salmon family have
been tremendous through trials and
tribulations. The ability to serve and
maintain their clientele through the
generations is amazing. The funeral
home has some planned external
updates and signage which we look
forward to seeing. |
